Dear Customers and Friends of the Port of Wilmington, Delaware,
PORT OF WILMINGTON
TWIC IMPLEMENTATION
ALL ROAD AREAS
AROUND PORT WAREHOUSES ARE SECURE AREAS;
“NON-TWIC’ed” AREAS ARE MONITORED
-
Guards will
stop ALL traffic at TWIC checkpoint at approach to Port Main Gate
and ask EVERYONE to show their TWIC card.
-
TWIC
cardholders will then proceed to POW Main Gate and show TWIC card to
the gate guard and enter the Port.
-
IF A TRUCKER
OR VISITOR IS NOT IN POSSESSION OF A TWIC CARD THE GUARD DIRECTS
THEM TO THE TWIC STAGING AREA ON CHRISTIANA AVENUE
(Located in
the 600 block of Christiana Ave – Southwest Side).
Trucker Non-TWIC Procedures
-
At the TWIC
staging area, the trucker will receive a “NON-TWIC” identification
vest & placard as well as have the destination of the truck
verified.
-
Truckers going
to a “Restricted Area” on the Terminal will need to make
arrangements to be escorted.
-
Trucker will
then receive a “Day Pass”. The cost of the “Day Pass” will be
$25.00.

Trucker will
then take the “Day Pass” to Main Gate and is then permitted to enter
the Port
-
Trucker will
then proceed to check-in at the Operations Dept. “Shipping &
Receiving” window accessed at the rear of the Admin Building. At
this point trucker pays the $25 for the “Day Pass” before proceeding
to the appropriate Port warehouse/open storage area or designated
Fruit Company Trailer.

When
loading/unloading is finished, driver returns to Operations or Fruit
Trailer to obtain a Gate Pass and then proceeds to the Main Gate.

When exiting
Terminal at Main Gate, truckers will return vest, placard, Day Pass,
& Gate Pass to the guard.

Roving
Security Officers” will patrol and check on “NON-TWIC” truckers.
Visitor Non-TWIC Procedures
-
At the TWIC
staging area, the visitor will receive a “NON-TWIC” identification
and a “NON-TWIC” placard for the car itself; the destination of the
vehicle will be verified.
-
Visitors going
to a “Secure Area” on the Terminal, such as the Admin Building will
not need to be escorted. (Those going to a “Restricted Area” can
make escort arrangements at the TWIC Staging Area.)

Visitors will
then proceed to the Port Main Gate

Visitors names
will need to be submitted in advance to the Port Main Gate
-
The visitors’
government issued photo ID’s will be checked as well as the
visitors’ inclusion on pre-notification list
-
Visitors will
then proceed to “Secure Area” destination – Admin Building
-
When exiting
Terminal at Main Gate, visitors will return placard to the guard
-
Roving
Security Officers” will patrol and check on “NON-TWIC” visitors
