Dry Bulk
The Port of Wilmington is located on 308-acres at the confluence of the Christina and Delaware Rivers, with a 4,000-foot marginal wharf and 38-foot MLW water depth. This facility provides excellent accommodations for deep draught bulk vessels specializing in the transport of dry bulk ores and minerals and other bulk cargoes.
The Port’s four (4) modern gantry cranes and mobile harbor crane with grab buckets and hoppers facilitate efficient loading and discharge operations.
Our strategic mid-Atlantic location and excellent rail and highway access make us an ideal distribution hub for bulk cargo.
In 2017, the Port of Wilmington handled dry bulk ores and minerals including road and industrial salt, petroleum coke, sodium nitrate, and a wide range of other dry bulk materials. Road salt for tri-state municipalities come through the Port of Wilmington.
